About Ashtanga YogaAshtanga Yoga is a flowing form of hatha yoga that combines a specific series of postures synchronized with a strong even breathing technique. The series is designed to build flexibility, strength, endurance and focus. One posture is linked to the next through the combination of breath and movement called vinyasa, so that the practice flows much like a dance or moving meditation. This practice can be done for a lifetime and is meant to bring happiness, health and light into your life by aligning and detoxifying the body, rehabilitating injury, and calming the mind. Classes are ongoing and open to all levels. New students may begin at any time - no experience necessary! The sessions are both accessible and challenging for all students. |
